Col·lisió MADNN Barcelona
FEB 2024

Copywriting,communication strategy, event management
Col·lisió is an event hatched by the second generation students of Elisava’s Master in Art Direction and New Narratives—MADNN—

Col·lisió, embodies the clash of diversity and
the power of communities through metaphorical acts that mirror a collision and its aftermath sensations in a club.

Project overview

An event designed with-in five weeks, set in the iconic Barcelona club Apollo la (3). A lineup ranging between solo dancing performance, indoor drone show and experimental clubbing session.

Challenges

  1. Copywriting for social media fully in English, for a multicultural audience in a city that I was just getting familiar with.

  2. Balancing a mysterious tone with assertive communication.

Results

Press release (both English and Spanish), naming, copywriting (from instagram captions, event’s description, event’s save the date and official invitation).

Communication Strategy:

  1. One of the key elements of the event’s brief was ‘upcycling’, which was meant to be used in various points of the event. To incorporate that in the communication strategy we decided to upcycle texts and copies from different sources; this to convey a mysterious and almost mischievous tone as well.
  2. The communication tone mirrored the event’s emotional journey; from the overwhelming confusion of a collision, to the harmony that can come after that.

Abstract

  • “MADNN presents: ELISAVA | col·lisió Most people are afraid of the dark. And yet the night in which distinctions and definitions cannot be readily made is the same night in which love is made, in which things merge, change, become enchanted, aroused, impregnated, possessed, released, renewed. Taken from Rebecca Solnit’s essay, Woolf’s Darkness 2009

  • The master is thought of as a permanent workshop, divided into projects with different as- signments that take creativity into different professional scenarios. “Col·lisió” is the result of one of these sequential modules, the creation of an event in Barcelona ‘s staple club venue Apolo.”
